Its app is a little basic and lacks features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It works with Alexa but its voice controls aren't clear or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station following a run. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route, but the RX3 stumbles around until it quits.
We also had issues with the smart features of the device, such as its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a good job of keeping away from our shoes and furniture legs however, it was easily stuck by cables and socks and was unable to handle the tassels that adorn rugs. We didn't include the Scout RX3 on our Best Buy list. However, with a reasonable price and impressive performance, the Scout RX3 is worth considering when you're looking for an alternative to the traditional uprights.
