Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum will keep your floors clean enough to decrease the frequency of manual hoovering. Pick a robot vacuum with good navigation, can clean corners and stairs and also has large bins that only needs to be emptying every so often.
There are models that mop and charge themselves, which is a feature that is essential for families with children or pets. Many of the best performers in our tests have excellent obstacles to avoid.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The i3+ EVO and its i3 EVO sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying features. That makes the i3+ an excellent option for those who want an entirely automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of manually emptying their robot's dustbin as it gets full.
Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on carpets and hard floors and are able to move around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we evaluated the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces, such as from hardwood to carpet.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas in which the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, which includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is filled or the battery is low it will return to its docking station and automatically emptying its debris into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning where it left off. The i3+ EVO's batteries last for approximately an hour and a half continuous use, and it takes around three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in the iRobot flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it has a self-emptying dustbin that eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names thanks to Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can control your robot via the app or by voice.
The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also removed large pet hair pieces from any surface including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though it self-empties its dust bin which eliminates a major source of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.
We were also amazed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and move around the room and sweep an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
In a world full of vacuums that are cordless and look like minivans or buses, this tiny Dyson model is an old-fashioned sports car. It's got the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum in most households however, it can also fit nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like an enchanted wand.
The V10 is powered with a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system is able to trap allergens and then releases cleaner air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to collect large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes that can be adapted to the task. It quickly converts from handheld vacuum to floor vacuum and back again.
The model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent in 3.5 hours. It also offers the ability to connect two attachments as well as a Wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons models, which take a long time to charge and are a pain to store.
The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. The tests conducted by CR show that its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a standard battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to get every single spot (though a second run-through usually does the trick). However, this model doesn't have its benefits It's lighter and more mobile than the older cordless Dysons and its vacuuming performance is noticeably superior on carpets with a low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums the 694 is an affordable model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robot. It was able to remove all kinds of debris and sizes in our testing and often went over the same area multiple times to ensure an efficient clean. The flat front of the unit allows to get into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.
Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to stay clear of obstacles and navigate your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections such as the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. As a result, it is sometimes stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and often is power-depleted before making it back to its home base.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways, as it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is fitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in moving itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and can charge faster.
The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of purposes, as it has a longer battery life, has the ability to alter its suction power mode on its own and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It is also more robust, has a larger motor, and is more effective on low-pile and bare floors.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a name that is found on all kinds of electronic gadgets for your home, so it comes as no surprise that they're one of the top mop and robot vacuum manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has a cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app provides plenty of options to personalize your robotic cleaner, such as virtual barriers, mopping water levels and behavior modification docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to navigate and use as are other Samsung devices.
In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors, and it cleaned up 86% of dog hair (on carpet). However, it didn't do particularly well with larger objects, like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also more expensive than other models we've tested and this could be a deal breaker for some buyers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed via the app. You can also set up a live stream from the robot's cleaning station. Going At this website allows you to keep track of your pets or the kids if you're away from home. The filter and the dustbin can be cleaned to ensure a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ comes with a self-emptying clean station, which helps to keep the bin clean and maximizes suction power.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Black and Decker robots have been developed specifically for flooring made of hard wood. The robots come with an extra-wide cleaning path and dust bins that are 2X larger than the competition. This lets them clean the area for a longer period of time. Plus, they include two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES Extreme model also includes AutoSense technology, which detects the presence of dirt or debris on the surface and automatically adjusts its power level. It also comes with a smart app that lets you see the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. Plus, you can monitor the vacuum's battery status and send it back to its dock to charge at the push of a button. The app also allows you to personalize the lights on top of the vacuum with different colors so you can clearly see which areas it's focused on or where it's stuck.
The app allows you to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug, for instance, has a darkly-colored border which could cause a problem for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however was able to continue to move across the border without ever registering the cliff. The ability to program a daily cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
